Assessments are beneficial in understanding underlying cause of illness, patterns of behavior or personality, and/or learning challenges. Screenings are conducted to determine the type(s) of assessment required based on each person's circumstances.
Assessments typically take place over 1-3 sessions. Once testing is complete, results are reviewed with each client. Next steps are determined in a collaborative nature with the client and therapist.
Assessment services are also available to other mental health clinicians. These assessments can assist in establishing current baselines, ruling out particular issues or clarifying a suspected diagnosis. Clinicians can request a consultation meeting to discuss and identify client needs.
